Anixter Center’s May 16 “Access for All” Benefit
Honors Christopher G. Kennedy

6th Annual Benefit to be held at Morgan Manufacturing

Chicago, Illinois – (March 16, 2017) — Anixter Center, one of the largest nonprofits in the Chicago area serving people with disabilities, will honor philanthropist and businessman Chris Kennedy at its annual Spring Benefit on May 16.

Themed “Access for All,” the evening will raise funds to help children, teens, and adults with disabilities through programs that include employment training and job placement, residential services and health care. Nearly 100 years old, Anixter Center has a long history of helping others. Today, many of Anixter Center’s clients have more than one disability and the vast majority have incomes below the poverty line.

Chris Kennedy has actively demonstrated a deep commitment to serving those in need, particularly in the disability community. He is Treasurer of the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation, which works to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. He is also Founder and Chairman of Top Box Foods, a nonprofit hunger-relief organization in Chicago, and he has been an avid supporter of Special Olympics throughout his life.

The “Access for All” Benefit begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Morgan Manufacturing, 401 N. Morgan St., Chicago, Illinois. Tickets are $400 per person, with sponsorship opportunities ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. Already on the growing list of sponsors for the evening are the Lester and Edward Anixter Family Foundation, Eric T. Gastevich, Comcast, Jones Day, ECI, and Jeannine Cleary.

To purchase a sponsorship or tickets or to make a donation, please visit Anixter Center Gala or contact Dan Summins, Vice President, Development and Sustainability, 773-973-7900, ext. 226. For more information about Anixter Center, go to www.Aniter.org.
